Teen Drivers Ed: Consists of 16 class days and 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training.
Classroom: Classroom hours will be completed during the holiday break! During the classroom phase they will also receive a certificate allowing them to obtain their driving permit at DPS.
Behind the Wheel (DZ): If student selected the Instructor method the student will start scheduling the 14 hours behind-the-wheel training hours during the last week of class(if they already have a permit).
Behind the Wheel (PT): If student selected the Parent Taught method the student will complete driving hours with parent. $20 state application fee not included
Monday – Friday
Class 6:00pm – 8:00pm
3 weeks classroom
During class students will begin scheduling their Behind-the-Wheel lessons(provided they have a valid permit). Students and Parents can login the the Student Portal to view all upcoming behind-the-wheel lessons.

Total price: $350. OR start with a $100 down and pay off the balance by the second week of class.
V.O.E. stands for “Verification of Enrollment”. [qodef_highlight background_color=”green” color=”white”]This form can be obtain through the students High School attendance office.[/qodef_highlight] This form is not required to start drivers ed, however, you will need it once the student is ready to get the driving permit at DPS.
Texas law does not allow students to miss no more than [qodef_highlight background_color=”green” color=”white”]five calendar class days[/qodef_highlight] If the students exceeds five days, the student will be terminated from the course and a reinstate fee will be applied to the students accout.
The course fee ($350) covers:
- 32 Hours of classroom instruction
- 7 Hours of driving
- 7 Hours of observation
- DPS Written Examination
- Certificate of completion.
- Notarization if needed
Once the course has been paid in full (and the student has passed the written DPS exam), students can schedule drives with the instructor or office, in person or by phone.
